It’s super bowl weekend and we all know what that means: food, food and … more food.
It’s hard not to feast on all the unhealthy and fried snacks that are available at super bowl parties. But there are so many great ways that you can eat something delicious, without any of the guilt! Seek healthy alternatives to your favorite dishes and you’ll be surprised what you can come up with! Below is one of our favorite recipes for an incredibly yummy but also, a much healthier snack. The fiber and protein from the nuts, seeds and nut butters will help to fill you up while the apples alone have tons of excellent health benefits.
Loaded Apple Nachos
Ingredients:
- 3 – 4 Apples (Thinly sliced)
- 3 tbsp. Almond Butter (any nut or seed butter works!)
- 1 tsp. Coconut Oil
Toppings:
- Shredded Coconut
- Chia Seeds
- Walnuts or Almonds
- Chocolate Chips
- Trail Mix or Granola
- Dash of Cinnamon
Directions:
- Thinly slice apples
- Mix almond butter and coconut oil together and drizzle on apple slices.
- Add toppings of your choice (see above for our favorite topping mix)
